Named
as one of Tennis Magazine's top 50 US tennis resorts, the Shipyard
Tennis Resort's championship courts are nestled among magnificent
oaks and beautifully landscaped grounds. The Resort offers 20
courts (13 Har-Tru & 7 Hard). Eight are lighted of which
3 are indoor/lighted. Most clinics are held on clay courts.
The Van Der Meer Shipyard Resort offers many adult
clinics and daily
programs and hosts numerous tournaments
and events throughout the year. The Resort also offers
many junior
clinics and summer
camps as well.
Directions
From Interstate 95, take exit 8 (Hilton Head Island) onto Highway
278. Once on the Island, follow Business 278 East until you
reach Shipyard Plantation on your left. (Shipyard Plantation
is a gated community. Please notify the gate guard that you
are attending a Van Der Meer Tennis Clinic to receive a day
pass to enter the Plantation) Follow the main Shipyard Plantation
road for 1 mile until it ends in a traffic circle. Take the
third exit off of the circle onto Shipyard Drive. Follow for
1.5 miles. The Van Der Meer Shipyard Tennis Resort will be on
your right.
